Writer

Karim is a screenwriter and playwright, based in Oxford. He recently graduated from the MA Screenwriting course at the National Film and Television School with a Toledo and Channel 4 scholarship. His feature film script, GANGA MATA has been optioned by Cinestaan Film Company.

For the stage, he has written BEYOND SHAME (Derby Theatre, 2018) and ORANGE JUICE (The Pleasance, Burton Taylor Studio, 2017). His latest play, CORROSIVE will premiere at Pegasus Theatre this Autumn. He is currently working on seed-commissions with the Bush Theatre (HOLD ON) and Rifco Arts (HEART ATTACK). Karim was on the Soho Writer’s Lab, as well as the Royal Court Writer’s Group, and prior to this, attached to the Oxford Playhouse.

He has contributed to the book of monologues for BAME actors, HEAR ME NOW (Oberon Books). He has also contributed to Radio 4 sketch show SKETCHTOPIA (TX April 2018). Karim has written three short animation films, A BIRD WITH NO LEGS, PIGEONS and CABIN PRESSURE.
