Paul Skillen and Aaron Gray are Belfast based writers.  After initially collaborating on BBC radio comedy shows, they have since made a number of award winning science fiction and horror short films. ‘THE WAY BACK’ and ‘ECHOES’ (funded by Northern Ireland Screen and British Film Institute) both played international festivals, winning a variety of awards, and secured UK and American television broadcasts.

The pilot episode of their pre-apocalyptic television drama ‘DINOSAURS’ was funded and broadcast by RTE in 2016. Paul and Aaron are exploring opportunities to develop the series further.

In 2019 they were invited to the Nederlands Film Festival to discuss their eco-horror project ‘BELOW’. This project is now in development with a major UK production company.

The team have written two feature film scripts. ‘MAIDENSANDS’ is contemporary folk horror, while ‘THE SILENCE’ is character driven science fiction.

Paul also writes and develops his own projects. In 2017 he wrote a series of animations for both BBC Bitesize and the Northern Ireland Human Rights Commission. ‘THE FAMILIAR STING’, his short film about homelessness, was produced in 2019. Paul has also written a children’s fantasy feature screenplay ‘GIANT’ and was the winner of a BBC New Talent scheme.
