Aleem Khan is a British filmmaker based in London.
He has written and directed several short films, including the BAFTA-nominated THREE BROTHERS.
His BAFTA-winning debut feature AFTER LOVE, is a drama about an ageing English Muslim convert who discovers that her recently deceased husband has a secret family living in Calais. The film premiered in Cannes Critics’ Week and garnered awards at numerous international festivals.
The film received widespread acclaim from critics and audiences upon its release, and at the 2021 British Independent Film Awards, it swept the board with six wins, with Aleem receiving awards for Best British Independent Film, Best Director, Best Writer and Best Debut Director. In 2022 the film received four BAFTA nominations for Best Director, Outstanding British Debut and Outstanding British Film, winning a BAFTA in the Leading Actress category.
