I’m a London based editor working across documentary feature films, shorts and television for nearly 20 years. I’ve cut films that have won RTS and AIB awards, been Grierson nominated and screened at festivals worldwide, including premiers at Sheffield DocFest in the UK. I have a wealth of experience across a breadth of narrative and visual styles and am equally at home cutting interview or archive lead films as I am with observational documentary. I’m used to the demands of a complex edit and bring a clear, calm eye to the most emotional and tangled stories.
I’m lucky enough to do a job I love. I’ve been obsessed with storytelling since I was a child, studying English Lit and then a Masters in the History of Cinema. But when I found editing I knew this was the medium for me. I have strong editorial skills honed over many years in the cutting room, and a firm grasp of narrative. I’m able to find the emotional heart of a scene, the human connection, that universal moment that makes an audience sit up and feel something real.
Through my work with the BBC I’ve become passionate about impactful storytelling, cutting complex and challenging social interest and investigative documentaries in multiple languages. I’m always looking for moments of light, warmth and humour even in the darkest of stories.
As a keen musician, I love finding the right rhythm and pace for each character; playing with tempo of an edit to really bring a story to life.
