Training and starting his editorial career in Auckland, New Zealand, Jack Brown has been working in scripted Editorial of Film & TV in one form or another since 2012. Coming up as an Assistant Editor, Jack worked on many productions ranging from local TV through to international feature films and U.S. TV series such as Ash vs Evil Dead and Outlander. Jack’s experience as an Assistant Editor and with Editorial workflows in drama ultimately led to him teaching this skillset with the National Film and Television School as well as other groups in the UK such as the Gorilla Academy as the primary instructor for courses on the topic.

After stepping up as an Additional Editor on 2019’s Guns Akimbo, Jack went on to edit the action/drama feature film Northspur [Released as Battle Cabin in the UK] which was picked up by Lionsgate for USA distribution. Shortly after this in 2020 Jack moved back home to the UK where he slotted into work VFX Editing and 1st Assistant Editing on productions like feature film Dead Shot and Agatha Christie series Murder Is Easy. Then in 2023, Jack cut kids' series Olga da Polga for CBBC and the Sci-Fi drama series AMAH for TVNZ in New Zealand.

While Jack lives near Glasgow, Scotland with his wife and three children, he’s no stranger to travel. Having worked in Munich, London, Edinburgh and Auckland he’s always up for going where the work is. He also maintains a full edit suite setup at home, as well as a portable kit for on-set editing, something that’s come in useful on several of his productions.

Dedicated to scripted Film and TV, Jack revels in the process of working with a Director to tell a story. So whether you are working together crafting a scene, talking high-end VFX workflows with vendors, emotive conversations with composers or just want to chat about your favourite 80s films, Jack’s there for you.
