Kate Reid is a writer-performer who trained at Bristol Old Vic Theatre School, graduating in 2018. Since then, she has been part of the Park Theatre Script Accelerator 2019 and the Soho Theatre Writers Lab 2021/22, whilst producing work for theatre, film and television. She has written and performed in A Girl, Standing (Theatre503), Refract (King’s Head Theatre), January (White Bear Theatre), The Cleaner (Traverse Theatre) and The 4th Country (Park Theatre).

She has also written sketches for the BBC One Wales series Age Of Outrage, and her first short film Two Steps Forward was nominated for Best Screenplay at Little Wing Film Festival.

In 2019, she was a finalist for the Royal Court Theatre's Lynne Gagliano Award, and in 2020 she was longlisted for the Theatre503 International Award and a finalist for the Charlie Hartill Award. In 2021, she was runner-up for the David Nobbs New Comedy Writing Competition, shortlisted for World Productions’ Writers’ Award, and a finalist in Sister Pictures and South Of The River Pictures’ inaugural Screenshot Competition at the Royal Court.

In 2022, she and her screenwriting partner, Zak Ghazi-Torbati, won TriForce Creative Network’s WriterSlam competition. Their sitcom pilot The Other Half was produced by Ranga Bee and aired on Dave by UKTV in August of that year.
