Robbie is a queer Kiwi-Brit writer & director.
He’s co-written and directed three comedy plays produced at Soho Theatre: Lesbian Space Crime, Pansexual Pregnant Piracy, and Count Dykula. Lesbian Space Crime was nominated for an Offie for Best New Play, shortlisted for New Diorama’s Untapped Award, and selected as a finalist for Sister/South of the River’s SCREENSHOT. Lesbian Space Crime & Count Dykula went to Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 2025 (at Pleasance, in Co-Pro with Soho Theatre).
Robbie has just been selected as part of Okre's Laughing Matters Fellowship development programme, to develop a climate-based sitcom. He’s trained with Sitcom Mission and had a sitcom pilot long listed by ShortCom. Robbie’s sketch “Token Straight Friend” was shortlisted and screened for Comedy Crowd’s Chorts and he has written jokes for BBC's Breaking the News.
Robbie also writes fiction and was selected for Penguin’s WriteNow 2025 programme for under-represented authors. This is his first manuscript, a horror-fantasy about phobias.
Robbie’s theatre directing credits include: Eris by John King (Bunker Theatre), Rabbit by Nina Raine (Mercury Theatre), Tuna by Rosanna Suppa (VAULT Festival), and How We Love by Annette Brooke (VAULT Festival, Peckham Theatre, Arcola Theatre). His assisting credits include: Consent (dir. Roger Michell, West End), Bitter Wheat (dir. David Mamet, West End), and Speech & Debate (dir. Tom Attenborough, Trafalgar Studios).
Robbie is a trained Intimacy Coordinator and has worked as an IC for the past six years on TV projects for Netflix, AppleTV, Paramount+, Disney+, the BBC, ITV, Channel4 and more, and on films such as Pillion, Red, White & Royal Blue, and Femme. He’s represented as an IC by Nia Hughes at Sara Putt Associates.
