Golden Globes 2024: Poor Things Takes Home Two

Last night Yorgos Lanthimos' dark science fantasy, POOR THINGS, took home two Golden Globes at the 81st iteration of the prestigious event.

Firstly, Emma Stone won Best Actress for the Comedy/Musical category. Her second time winning the award. This also marked being the second time she was nominated for a performance under Lanthimos' direction after gaining a Best Supporting Actress nomination for Yorgos' previous feature THE FAVOURITE. Her performance has been heralded since the film was first debuted as she continues to solidify herself as one of the finest acting talents in the world.

As the night concluded, Yorgos collected the Golden Globe for Best Comedy/Musical Motion Picture alongside cast and crew. He thanked Bruce Springsteen who was in the crowd for the ceremony as well as Film4, Element and Searchlight pictures for helping the film become possible. This win sees Yorgos build on his immensely successful critical response as Oscars nominations are on the horizon. 

Yorgos teased audiences stating "We'll have that for you soon" regarding his next feature KINDS OF KINDNESS which will see cast members Emma Stone and Willem Dafoe reunite.
