Mike, Amanda, Laurie and George need kidney transplants. They meet at a dialysis session, where clinic regulars Mike and Amanda have their routine disrupted by newcomers Laurie and George.
Being hooked up to the dialysis machines means that, no matter what happens, no one can leave the room for four hours. Only Mike’s adopted sister Leah, and their nurse Ozigbodi, connect them to the outside world. At first, everyone is determined to be friendly; everyone is determined to be polite. But when the patients discover that one of them might get the chance to live, they start turning on one another.
The patients know that not all of them are going to survive, and as dark secrets are forced out into the light, some of them start to believe that not everyone deserves to.
