PILLION, BUGONIA and MR BURTON are amongst the nominees for the 2026 BAFTA Film Awards.

PILLION received three nominations this year, including Outstanding British Film, Best Adapted Screenplay, and Outstanding Debut for writer and director Harry Lighton. The film, produced Element Pictures, was adapted from Adam Mars-Jones’ 2020 novel, Box Hill. PILLION was released in the UK in November 2025 and will be released in select US theatres in February 2026.

Yorgos Lanthimos has been nominated for Best Director for BUGONIA. The film is an English-language remake of Korean film, SAVE THE GREEN PLANET, and has picked up nominations in the Leading Actor, Leading Actress, Best Original Score, and Best Adapted Screenplay categories. BUGONIA was produced by Element Pictures and Square Peg, and released in theatres across the UK and US in April 2025.

MR BURTON, directed by Marc Evans, has also been nominated in the Outstanding British Film category. This biopic is produced by Josh Hyams, Ed Talfan, Hannah Thomas of Severn Screen and was released in UK theatres in April 2025. MR BURTON is now available to stream on BBC iPlayer.
